Greaney’s Red Metal and O’Brien’s tipping point are the two most worthy successors to the genre that I have read. However, the ending is about as anticlimatic as it can be, the story simply cuts out without much of a cliffhanger. The sequel continues the suspense and action with the fate of Taiwan and South Korea in the balance. Excellent underwater battle descriptions reminiscent of Clancy’s Red October book.
